Sunrise Over the Pink City: A Jaipur Hot Air Balloon Adventure
Witness the Aravalli Hills wake up from the silent heights of a colourful hot air balloon canopy.
November 2025
Our journey begins in the obsidian chill of pre-dawn Jaipur. The silence of the desert is broken by the rhythmic roar of propane burners, casting colossal orange flames into the bellies of multicoloured silks. As the green and yellow canvases swell and stand tall against the blue-black sky, there is a tangible sense of anticipation amongst the crew and travellers alike. Taking flight as the first light touches the horizon, we drift over a monochromatic, hazy landscape. From the basket, the world below appears as a quiet tapestry of dusty roads, scattered trees, and arid fields. The highlight is the moment the red sun pierces through the mist over the ridgeline of the Aravalli Hills, casting a golden glow that silhouettes sister balloons floating in the distance. Descending back to earth, we glide over vast fields of feathery pampas grass, where the morning light catches every silver tip. Upon landing in the sandy scrub, the great envelope finally exhales, collapsing slowly as we return to the grounded reality of Rajasthan, welcomed by the local villagers wandering through the tall stalks under a now brilliant, clear blue sky.
